History

Nine-year Compulsory Education in 1968 contributed to the birth of Min De Junior High School, which was one of the three in Tainan City then and originally named Gi-Min. However, the slow progress of school buildings caused the students to study in nearby Li-Ren Elementary School.

Thanks to the great efforts of the first principal (Bai Long-Ya) and the assistance from the city government, the first phase of the school construction was finished in 1969 and the students were able to study in their own school for the first time. In 1970, the former mayor of Tainan City, Lin Xi-Shan, attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony on October 22nd, which has been the date of school anniversary until now.

All the principals’ efforts have led to the continued development and growth of Min De
